Last night, a couple of Golden Globe winners, soap stars and Loose Women descended upon the Royal Festival Hall on London’s South Bank for the annual TV BAFTAs. A long-established celebration of the full spectrum of British television, it was, unsurprisingly, Adolescence that won big, scooping four awards from its 11 nominations. Accepting the prize for best supporting actor, Owen Cooper said: “In the words of John Lennon, you won’t get anything unless you have the vision to imagine it… I think you only need three things to succeed in life: one, an obsession, two, a dream, and three, the Beatles.” It probably helps, too, if you have Bottega Veneta on speed dial – the 16-year-old was the evening’s best-dressed attendee in a custom bib-front shirt and bomber jacket. Elsewhere, his co-star Erin Doherty turned to 16Arlington for a basque-skirted LBD; Marisa Abela wore an off-the-shoulder column gown courtesy of Prada; Bella Maclean arrived in a diaphanous, distressed skirt suit by Pola Wislicz; while Claudia Winkleman, a rogue style plate ever since her Cambridge University fashion-society days, wore capri trousers.
