The unofficial dress code at the 2026 Met Gala was spring florals, according to Vogue Runway’s Irene Kim. On the beauty front, this manifested as botanical accessories that bloomed from hairlines. There were almost as many flower crowns on the 2026 Met carpet as there were at Glastonbury in 2010.

Met Gala 2026 attendees Hunter Schafer, Karlie Kloss, Jisoo, SZA, EJAE, and Naomi Watts each chose sweet floral hair accessories to complement their outfits, an interpretation of the Met’s spring exhibition’s Costume Art theme. A nod to nature and an opportunity to embrace bold colour, this was easily the most joyful beauty detail visible on the steps of the Met on Monday night.
Any number of trends played out on the carpet on Met night (breastplates, boudoir style), but this one is perhaps the easiest to replicate – and to pull off. Simply elevate your everyday bun or updo with a floral accessory.
