For the welcome reception, the bride wore a black dress by Ayumi, with a 1980s-inspired bustier, an oversized bolero, and Christian Louboutin shoes. During the wedding preparations at the Four Seasons in Florence, Millane wore a champagne silk Victorian dress with removable puff sleeves. For the ceremony itself, she chose a Stellarissa gown in champagne silk with long sleeves, complemented by a regal tiara and ruby headpiece by Indonesian designer Rinaldy Yunardi. “I dreamed that if I ever got married, I would want to feel like a queen for a day,” says Millane.

The ceremony took place in the historic Church of the Holy Apostles and St Blaise in Florence, against a backdrop of centuries-old stone, vaulted ceilings, and clouds of white gypsophila. From there, the party moved to the 15th-century Villa di Maiano in the Florentine hills, an historic mansion once owned by the Medici family. Here, long tables lit by thousands of candles were decorated with velvet, seasonal fruits, and arrangements of hydrangeas, garden roses, amaranthus and proteas in shades of burgundy and deep purple. “We wanted something completely unique, not a copy of something else,” says the bride of the opulent decor.

Before dinner, served on a terrace beneath the Tuscan stars, Millane changed into a Hian Tjen gown inspired by lily of the valley, and embroidered with 3D flowers that echoed the blooms in her bridal bouquet. The 50-metre table, which seated 150 guests, was decorated in deep reds and lit by candles.

One of the most emotional moments of the evening, Millane recalls, came when her father dedicated a song to her. “It was as if he was accompanying me to a new chapter in life,” she says. Similarly memorable: the newlyweds first dance, which took place in the grand mansion’s hall, and found the bride in another ethereal white gown. “Although Max had always claimed to have two left feet, he had been practising for weeks. When we finally danced, it felt like time stood still.”

The celebrations continued into the night inside the “lemon house” at Villa di Maiano, which had been transformed into a deep red underground space inspired by Berlin, where the couple first met. Millane hit the dance floor in a pink minidress decorated with 3D flowers and pearls by Yogie Pratama, complemented by custom over-the-knee boots, a golden headdress and even bejewelled glasses. “Pink represented my lighter, more joyful side: celebrating life, music and creativity,” she explains.

The following day called for more theatrical looks for Millane: a dress with floral embellishments and sparkling details, accompanied by a large bird appliquéd on the shoulder – a tribute to her childhood pet. Finally, for a farewell brunch served with panoramic views of Florence, the bride wore a cream, gold and silver look she’d designed herself.

Millane and Max say they chose 8 August – or 8/8 – as their wedding date because of its symbolic meaning related to eternity. “For us, there could not have been a more perfect date,” says the bride. “I married my soul mate in eight dresses, and we got married on 8/8.”
